Jeanne Simmons lebt in Washington und sehr naturnah. Mit ihren Arbeiten möchte die Künstlerin auf die Verbindung zwischen Natur und den Menschen eingehen, was nicht selten auch wörtlich gesehen transportiert wird.

„My goal is to express, as beautifully and as compellingly as I can, the contents of my inner world and imagination, as well as my preoccupation with the relationship between humans and nature. With my work, I attempt to describe a connectedness between us and our environment that seems to have been all but forsaken. I hope to nurture this dynamic relationship, which is our birthright and obligation, and to perhaps even rekindle and reawaken a yearning for it in others. Simultaneously, I hope to satisfy my own need to embed myself in nature.“ (Artist Statement)

Ein Video über den Bodensee und im Beitragsbild ist nicht mal Wasser zu sehen?! Keine Bange, im Clip bekommt ihr den See zu sehen, in dessen Region Fotograf Christian Mögnum Möhrle aka The Phlog rund 30.000 Fotos geschossen hat. 200 Arbeitsstunden später ist „Lakeside 3“ geboren und zeigt mir, dass ich unbedingt mal den Bodensee besuchen sollte. Als wir noch in Augsburg wohnten, waren wir tatsächlich ein Mal sehr kurz davor, unser Anreisestundengeiz hat den Trip dann aber doch zum Sternberger See gebracht…

„I spent the past 9 months capturing time-lapse videos around Lake Constance (Bodensee) in southern Germany / Austria to create the third part of the Lakeside movie. For this purpose I visited the biggest and most beautiful cities and villages around the lake like Konstanz, Bregenz, Überlingen, Meersburg and many more.“
