In der langen Liste der skurrilen Weltmeisterschaften (ich hätte echt mal eine Liste dafür starten und pflegen sollen…) gibt es einen weiteren Eintrag: Schuhpolieren. Das ist jetzt vielleicht nicht ganz so spannend in Gänze anzuschauen (der Finallauf geht 20 Minuten…!), aber das Ergebnis lässt mich all meine Schuhe verbrennen, weil sie nicht mehr außentauglich erscheinen.
The World Championships of Shoe Shining brings together some of the best shoe shiners from around the world to compete live at the London Super Trunk Show.
At the 2025 event, held on May 10 on London’s Regent Street, three finalists were given a pair of Bridlen Straight Tip Oxfords and just 20 minutes to achieve the highest possible mirror shine. Working only with Saphir Médaille d’Or waxes, brushes, and cloths, they showcased their skill, speed, and attention to detail as the judges looked on.
