Am 20. Mai 2022 wird mit „Every Single Thing“ (Partnerlink) das neue Studioalbum von Will Joseph Cook erscheinen. Mit „4AM“ gab es bereits einen ersten Vorgeschmack, jetzt folgt mit „Little Miss“ der nächste, der erneut zeigt, wie ungemein charmant Cook doch sowohl in seiner Musik als auch seinen Musikvideos ist! Ich muss gestehen, dass ich ganz froh war, dass nach dem doch sehr bedächtigen und sich hinziehenden Intro dann noch der Beat eingesetzt hat, und es insgesamt auch meiner Meinung nach noch etwas flotter hätte werden können, aber das tut meiner Vorfreude ob des angekündigten neuen Albums keinen Abbruch! Schöne Randnotiz: Im Song singt er „I love every single thing about you“, was wunderbar den Albumtitel aufgreift.
Will Joseph Cook sagt selbst über den Track „Little Miss“:
„I was with my friend Eric Radloff and I had just got a Nintendo Switch. We both love that world and I was rediscovering a lot of Wii/Gamecube beats. I had been doing this thing on social media where I would take classic Nintendo soundtracks and writing melodies and lyrics to them. I wanted to do something with the same cute, jazz pop sound from those games. We were both just texting each other little ideas in that vibe. Eventually we landed on the chords and from there the entire song and lyrics came very quickly after. I had been away from my girlfriend for a good chunk of time, there was beautiful sunny weather outside – so I just walked around my garden and house, pulling words from what I felt around me. It had the same kinda sexy, fun charm that I had enjoyed writing with for ‘Be Around Me’.“
Schade, an das großartige „Be Around Me“ kommt der neue Song dann leider nicht ran. Ich glaube, ich muss jetzt direkt nochmal das Vorgänger-Album „Something To Feel Good About“ (noch ein Partnerlink…) anhören!
