Malereien von Sergiu Ciochină

Mit grobem Pinselduktus und viel Gefühl für Licht und Schatten bringt Sergiu Ciochină impressionistische Landschafts-Motive auf die Leinwand. Die Ölgemälde des moldawischen Künstlers bestehen durch intensive Farbgebung und hohem Kontrast. Mir gefällt der Stil enorm, auch wenn ich mir persönlich allgemein etwas mehr Abwechslung in der Motivauswahl wünschen würde (man muss allerdings auch zugeben, dass das Prinzip „Baum vor Hausfassade“ eben extrem gut funktioniert für seinen Stil). „I am particularly interested in the stylisations of figures. As I create, what fascinates me the most is the energy I receive as I explore and experiment with the subtlety of the line. A simple gesture, a brushstroke, the thinning or thickening of lines in a composition, can completely change the emotion and expression of the figure. I feel my own emotions flowing onto the canvas, changing and modulating as they do in real life. Going further into the depths of emotion, I explore a full range of aesthetics to represent human thoughts and feelings. I am fascinated by the interplay of unusual dimensions and shapes to represent expressions, bodies, stances, and nature. I strive to create art that intrigues the viewer, that creates rhythm and movement, and that showcases gestures that convey a message. I want viewers to see the expressions I have created emerging from the canvas. Through modulation and deformation of classic figures such as nudes, I impart new meaning and figuration onto them. Beyond the surface, I seek to instill in my work a spiritual beauty which I very often look for and see in the people around me. This is my inspiration.“ (Artist Statement)
